Overview
|
Our fees are custom quoted. Our goal is to provide you with a firm quote in advance so you know exactly what to expect. The primary factors influencing the precise quote include the scope of the research requested, the historical time period we will be working with and the amount of time we are given to do the work. For details on fees for specific bodies of law see the links at the bottom of this page.

We adapt to your situation
|
Although we always tell you what fee you will incur in advance, we recognize each time you request research your needs may be a little different.
On some occasions your research problem is so acute, and so much is at stake, you want to touch every research base. On other occasions your need is less acute, and your budget may be tight. You may not need every research resource checked. We quote to address your needs in each case.
If you need "search every possible source" research, our research fees are usually substantially lower than the fees charged by similar commercial legislative intent services. We emphasize working with you to understand your needs, and use that knowledge to focus our efforts on documents that will actually be substantively useful. In addition, our experience taught us the best way to serve you is to keep our operation efficient and our overhead low. For our published specific research policies, click here.

The guidelines we use for quoting fees
|
Our fee guidelines are based on the assumption we are searching every available source, on a single legislative enactment. If you do not need every available source searched we reduce our fee accordingly.
With any request, we will be happy to discuss what you are likely to find before you authorize a search. Also, keep in mind our research fees will also be supplemented by costs incurred, which are primarily photocopy or delivery costs.
